It brings me great pleasure to welcome Louisville native David Stickler to this week's program! When I first met David, he was a resident assistant in my dorm at Western Kentucky University . . .and even way back then, I knew he was destined for a bright future! After working as a production assistant for numerous films, Stickler earned a spot in the Director's Guild roughly five years ago. In 2022, he was an assistant director for "The Fabelmans", a movie co-written and directed by the great Steven Spielberg. We'll learn what sparked his interest in pursuing a career in the film industry...and more importantly, we'll hear how he got a foot in the door, and worked his way up in such a timely and successful manner. I'm speaking of Mr. Bill Stephens, former news director with WSON Radio, who retired this past September. We'll enjoy Bill's look back on his coverage of historic occurrences, such as the 9-11 attacks of 2001, and the brutal ice storm of 2009.
