Episode Notes

She may be legally blind, but this week's "Exceptional Educator" certainly hasn't let this stop her from admirably serving other individuals with vision loss, and inspiring them to be the best they can possibly be!! Presenting Abby Cocanougher, a braille instructor at the Charles McDowell Center for the Blind in Louisville. Abby will give us a synopsis of her student days at the Kentucky School for the Blind, and explain the means by which she discovered her calling to teach braille. She also describes the steps she took to make this career goal a reality, the importance of braille within the visually-impaired community, and fascinating aspects of her life outside the classroom such as her guide dog and musical hobbies. Listening to Abby without smiling might as well be scientifically impossible!
