If you've never treated yourself to a play written by Henderson's very own Bob Park, you're truly missing out . . .but this can easily be rectified next month!! I myself am privileged to be part of this play as well...but don't let that scare you off!! Tune in for a sneak preview of the show, entitled "Taffy Shenanigans On the Air", centered around a brand new radio station in Taffy, Kentucky, where Mr. Park grew up. I'll be joined in the first half of the podcast by the man himself, along with Donna Stinnett, who has played a vital role in the planning and execution of the Taffy series plays. They will be followed in the second half of the program by Stacey Howell, one of my fellow cast members, who will discuss her character, along with her wealth of experience in Bob's plays. Get psyched for lots of laughs and smiles, and make plans to join us at Preston Arts Center on Saturday August 23rd at 7:00PM, or Sunday August 24th at 2:00PM, for this highly-anticipated production. And for additional information and updates, be sure to follow the Taffy Opry Facebook page linked here: https://www.facebook.com/TheTaffyOpry/.

This week's very special guest has been a trusted voice for me, and countless other Western Kentuckians, for several decades . . .and she's still kickin'!! She is the fabulous Shelley Kirk, who has tirelessly informed and entertained us from the studios of WEHT/WTVW since the late 80s. A high percentage of her time there was spent alongside local legend Brad Byrd, with whom she co-anchored evening newscasts. On one particular occasion, Shelley was even privileged to report to Channel 25 viewers from the White House Oval Office! She will reflect on this experience, and look back on other highlights of her successful career. She'll also speak of her long-time partnership with Mr. Byrd on the set, and extend helpful advice to those with similar radio/TV journalism aspirations.
