Blabbin' In the Bluegrass

S3E3 - Boggess, Blues, and Barbecue

Episode Notes

This week we complete the impressive story of an exceptional educator, which we opened last week, and preview one of the state's most popular summer extravaganzas! First, it's a re-connection with our friend Rick Boggess, a long-time instructor of the visually-impaired in Owensboro, who will continue enlightening us on his success in overcoming blindness to mentor and inspire students. Afterwards, it's time for plentiful family fun and fellowship at next week's W.C. Handy Blues and Barbecue Festival. Dorin Luck will provide a snapshot of the music and events we can enjoy as part of this downtown Henderson tradition, and explain how we can lend our assistance through volunteer efforts. To find out about Rick Boggess's support group for the visually-impaired, known as SAVI, simply visit their Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/owensboro.savi/. And, further information about the upcoming Handy Fest is also readily available at this website: http://handyblues.org/.
