S14E18 - Radio Jawin' with Cactus Jack

Episode Notes

This week, we take you to the radio ranch to visit with a voice that has been heard off and on in far western Kentucky for over FOUR decades!! Introducing Jack Newberry, commonly known as "Cactus Jack", who has handled everything from overnights on country station WKYQ in Paducah, to middays on Paducah's WLLE (Willie 102.1), home to classic country legends. Not only does Jack host a hugely popular "Country Classifieds" show on Friday mornings (allowing listeners to buy, sell, or trade items of their choice), but he also has his very own Youtube channel: "Cactus Jack's Country". Grab a seat as he discusses the non-traditional path he took into broadcasting, along with a few of the many perks/connections the business has graced him with over the years. He also gives us a gist of the content he regularly presents on his Youtube channel, including interviews he has done with country artists, and even footage of classic models from car shows (This man loves his old rides!). To participate in Jack's "Country Classifieds" program, which airs each Friday morning at 10:00AM, simply give him a call at 270-534-8707.
